Apply

The program is open to artists, writers, technologists, and creative practitioners working across all disciplines. There are no age restrictions or geographic limitations. Applicants should demonstrate a serious commitment to their creative practice and the ability to work independently.

To apply email your application to admin@mffair.art

All applications must include the following:

A statement of Intent that describes your current creative practice, the work you plan to pursue during the residency, and how this opportunity would advance your practice. Explain why this particular environment and timeframe would be meaningful for your work.

A portfolio or work samples. All work samples should be from the past three years.

A current CV or resume outlining your education, exhibitions, publications, projects, and relevant experience.

Two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with your work and practice. Recommenders should address your artistic merit, work ethic, and suitability for a self-directed residency program.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The selection committee reviews applications quarterly. Early applications are encouraged as residency slots fill quickly.

Applications are reviewed by a selection committee that includes artists, curators, and foundation representatives. Selection is based on artistic merit, the clarity and potential of the proposed work, and the applicant’s demonstrated ability to benefit from the residency experience.

Applicants will be notified of decisions within 8-10 weeks of submission. Selected residents will work with program staff to schedule their residency dates.

The residency covers accommodation and studio access. Residents are responsible for their own travel, meals, and materials. The program welcomes international applicants. Residents are responsible for obtaining any necessary visas. The compound is accessible by car from major Tuscan cities. Transportation details will be provided upon acceptance. Residents may bring partners or family members with advance notice and approval.
